Enjoy an excerpt:
While Tenna wades through all the new information, trying to learn whether one of her own has betrayed her, the entire family is on edge with the arrival of an enemy clan of Shifters, the same Shifters responsible for the slaughter of Jason’s entire family and tribe. Everything is hitting too close to home.
The closer Tenna gets to finding the demon doing everything it can to be the one to end the reign of the Huntress, the more she realizes it is, indeed, someone she loves. Sometimes the dead don’t stay dead.
Tenna lifted her dagger as her body swayed. She was going to lose this round, but she would go down fighting. And down she went when the man once again whipped the back of his closed fist across her face. It felt like the side of her head would explode from the impact.
She crumpled to the floor unable to hold herself up any longer. Focusing everything she had left she attempted to reach out with her energy. Maybe she could exert enough to stun them, just enough to give the women a chance to get out of the house. Surely the Shifters wouldn’t risk being seen by the snooty neighbors.
No matter how hard she tried Tenna couldn’t concentrate. Strangely, a new energy flowed through the room, reaching her with its cool tentacles. It was a familiar energy, something she had done a few times by accident. Tenna struggled to look up to the men just in time to see them all begin to sway. Their faces went slack, their eyelids lowered; they seemed like they were about to fall asleep where they stood.
Followed by this strange phenomenon came a new energy, only this one was physical. A new energy swam around that one until she could barely focus on anything else. These two new energies were angry, they were bloodthirsty. With half-opened eyes Tenna watched the colors and shapes swirl around her. She knew these energies as well as she knew her own. She had a moment to be grateful before the darkness swept her under.
When not fully engulfed in the latest release or typing away at her newest novel you can find her corralling her chickens, playing with her dogs, spoiling her large lizard or sewing a new vintage inspired dress. Her dream is to travel the country in an RV with her husband while writing more books…after the kids have gone on to college, of course.
