When Amanda arrives at the dreaded school, she considers running away—until she and her new friends discover blood and weird pink substances in odd places. At first they're not sure whether these seeming clues mean anything, but when Amanda's father disappears and the cook is found dead with her head in a bag of sugar, they're certain that crimes are taking place.

Now Amanda must embrace her destiny and uncover the truth. The only snag is that arch-villain Blixus Moriarty, a descendant of Holmes’s nemesis Professor James Moriarty, might be involved, and he doesn't like nosy little girls interfering in his business.

Paula BerinsteintAbout the Author:
Paula Berinstein is nothing like Amanda. For one thing, she’s crazy about Sherlock Holmes. For another, she’s never wanted to be a filmmaker. In addition, compared to Amanda she’s a big chicken! My review;
First of all I have got to say how much I really enjoyed all of these books!!
Detective # 1   " Amanda Lester and the Pink Sugar Conspiracy" was the first book I read in this series and I was hooked right away. Amanda Lester does not  want to be any kind of detective. She is tired of the family business. But, her parents do not care at all for her feelings and send her to a school in England for family of famous detectives whether she wants to or not. When she gets to this secret school she wants to leave but makes friends and starts to get involved. Before she knows it her father goes missing and the cook at the school is killed. She has no choice, it is up to her to figure out the murder. But there are others who want to stop her. Will she figure it out before someone else gets hurt or worse? I give this book a 5/5.

Detective #2
"Amanda Lester and the Orange Crystal Crisis"
This is another wonderful book in this series. A new student has come to the secret school for family members and Amanda has been told to help him. This time he is a descendant of Sherlock and he likes her. Too bad he is not the kind of person she likes and he is weird. Amanda has no choice when a body is found with strange living crystals. She thinks that he is the only one that will be able to help. How are the young detectives going to hold the criminals back. How can they figure it out before they find out who the identity of the dead person. First they have to be friends?  I give this book a 5/5.

Detective # 3
"Amanda Lester and the Purple Rainbow Puzzle"   I have to say that these books get better and better.
Amanda does not seem to be okay at the secret school. There are zombies all over he place and there are things disappearing. Next to go missing are Amanda's cousins. then her friend Clive is kidnapped . Now she has to ask Sherlock Holmes' family member for help even though she doesn't want to. But he is next to go missing. Who is doing this? Her arch- villain or someone else? I give this book a 5/5.

Book Four
This is the newest book in the series.
Amanda is okay until a blue peacock that is very rare decides to knock her down while she is on her skateboard. She has to find out what secret the rare blue peacocks are hiding before someone gets hurt. Then there is a discovery that makes everyone go against detectives. Friends and enemies have to work together. Amanda has a lot of problems and she does not need to add love to it!  I give this book a 5/5. I cannot wait until the next book in this series. I was given these books for a review and these are my opinions.
