Dream Series by James DiBenedetto A Must Read Series

What words could I use to describe this series !!!! There are probably not very many that would do this series the justice that it deserves. Rarely do you start a series that you cannot keep waiting for the next book to come out. This is that kind of series. Once you read the first you just want to go on to the next and the next without any break in between.
This is a series of books about a girl named Sara. The first book in the series is Dream Student, Book One where we first meet a  student named  Sara, who has begun to have terrifying dreams and or nightmares. These nightmares are horrible because they are about people she knows. Her best friend Beth, is trying to help her get through this but she is having a hard time. She meets a man who will be her husband, Brian and he is trying to help her, too. They are scared for her and try to help her so that she can get through this without getting killed in the process.
The second book in the Dream Series is Dream Doctor Book Two, here we find Sara waiting to get married to Brian and then to go to medical school. She starts to have her dreams again and she and Brian must race to find out who she is dreaming about and why, before she ruins her marriage and she possibly loses her life.
The third book in the Dream Series is Dream Child Book Three. Sara is now a doctor who has a daughter, Lizzie who is 3 years old. We meet up with Sara when she is confirming a second pregnancy with her doctor. What she finds out, and never suspected is that she is having twins. She has realized that Lizzie can also have dreams like her.  They all must work together to solve Lizzie's dream.
The fourth book in the Dream Series is Dream Family Book Four. Sara's dreams have caught up with her and she finds herself in jail charged with a crime so could have done. In this book of the series we see Sara and Brian trying to save their family.
What a thrill these books are. I give them all a 5/5 and I wish I could go higher. I was given these books to read by the author but all opinions are 100% my own.

Escape to Love by Emma Calin Book Review

From the first page of Escape to Love by Emma Calin I was hooked.  Could you just imagine the terror felt by Maria , a woman who has taken her special needs  daughter and ran to safety from a violent situation. She has been home all day during a storm and she is waiting for her daughter, Lucy to come home from school. She hears sirens and goes outside to investigate what was going on. She asks the police what was wrong and to ask them to help her find her daughter. They tell her that there is a prison nearby and a prisoner has escaped. She goes home and thankfully hears her daughter's voice in the kitchen. When she goes in the kitchen though, her daughter is not alone. There is a man who begins by saying his name is Alan, and her daughter tells her that this man saved her life when he pulled her out of the river. He goes on to explain that there were two prisoners that escaped and he is not the rapist. She is bewildered by the fact that he called her Madam and seems to be educated.
Her poor daughter has been terrorized her first day of school by other girls who wanted her to steal for them and she refused. She ran home as fast as she could but she fell into the river on her way.  While listening to what her baby has gone through Maria has been crying. She starts to ask the man, who said his name was Alan, what has really happened. He tells her that he saw Lucy in the river holding onto a tree and all he thought of was saving her.
Maria is confused by her feelings towards this man. Shouldn't she be afraid of him? Shouldn't she run outside and alert the police? There was something in his eyes that she was responding to. The problem facing Maria is that she has been unable to trust anyone again, especially a rapist. Why then is she not afraid of this man.
This is a story of learning to love, to trust again and suspense. I give this book a 5/5. I really loved the way this author portrayed the main characters. I was given this book by the author for the purpose of a review, but all opinions are 100% my own.

Take a Chance on Me by Susan May Warren Book Review

I just finished reading Take a Chance on Me by Susan May Warren. This book was about a man, Darek Christiansen, who is the heir and oldest son to a family resort called Evergreen Lake.  Darek, the oldest son of a large clan is a man who has been mad and deeply wounded by his wife Felicity's death. While he is a eligible bachelor there is no woman who is brave enough to come close to him.
Ivy Madison is the new assistant district attorney. When she goes to a charity auction for bachelors she has no idea what she is getting into and she finds herself bidding on Darek. Three years ago Ivy made a plea bargain which kept a man named Jensen Atwood from going to jail, instead he had to do community service in Deep Haven. When Ivy made this bargain she had no idea that she was releasing the man who was thought to be responsible for the death of Felicity, Darek's wife. Now, finally, Ivy has found what she believes to be the wonderful family that she has always wanted, but it may never happen because of her secret.
The more she is around Darek, the more she finds herself getting closer to him even though he has a hard exterior. She has to keep him from ever finding out that she was the one who allowed his wife's killer to go free. Darek and Ivy must work to get through their past mistakes and their past bad feelings if they ever want a future together.
This was a book of faith, love and strength of family. I was not able to put the book down, because I wanted to see what happens to Darek and Ivy. I really liked the book and I give it a 5/5. I always love a good story about family. I was given this book by Tyndale Publishers for the purpose of a review, and all opinions are 100% my own.

Bread & Wine by Shauna Neiquist Book Review

I just finished reading Bread  & Wine a Love Letter toLife Around the Table with Recipes by Shauna Neiquist. This book is a collection of essays about certain times in the author's life and along with these essays are some great recipes. Some may be sad and some are happy, but they are all heartfelt. It takes a lot of courage for someone to write about their life and their personal feelings and thoughts.
I still remember going to my grandmother and grandfather's house every Sunday where we all sat around the table eating pasta, homemade bread and homemade wine. I can still smell the grapes fermenting in the cellars. This story brings smiles as well as tears to my eyes. It is as the author says a place to learn, as well as share your unique you. It is also a place where you are free to be you.
In the days when people my age were children and my children were children, the kitchen table was the center of the family. On a lot of evenings we could be found sitting with one or more of our children while they were doing their homework. Once I started reading these short essays I had to keep going until I finished the whole book. This author has the ability to make the reader compare their experiences with what they are reading about. One of her recipes Robin's Super Healthy Lentil Soup reminded me of a soup that my Italian side of the family makes during the winter.  It is called Lentil and Chestnut Soup.  When I first got married my husband fell in love with this and late fall every year he would check the produce department of the grocery store to see if they had them in yet.  I really enjoyed this book. This book is one of the best I have ever had the opportunity to read. I was given this book by Handlebar Publishing , Zondervan  for the purpose of a review but all opinions are 100% my own.

The Happiest Baby Guide to Great Sleep by Harvey Karp, M.D. Book Review

http://bit.ly/ZUyHra

Finally, kids do come with instructions!

Surprisingly simple steps to boost your little child's sleep fast!

Dr. Harvey Karp made doctors applaud and parents cheer with his brilliant solutions to centuries-old problems such as colic and tantrums. Now, in THE HAPPIEST BABY GUIDE TO GREAT SLEEP: Simple Solutions for Kids from Birth to 5 Years (William Morrow Paperback; On-Sale: March 19, 2013; $15.99; ISBN: 9780062113320), Dr. Karp stuns the world again by solving the #1 problem plaguing new parents: exhaustion. Dr. Karp's surprising insights include:

How to train brand new babies to sleep better: Infants can be taught to sleep at least one extra hour from the first weeks of life! Dr. Karp shows how to safely boost baby sleep in just days.

What’s the best white noise (and which ones worsen sleep): The right white noise (low pitched and rumbling) is the key to good sleep—even through teething—for all babies. Plus, it even gives parents a more restful sleep

Why parents should always wake a sleeping baby: For good sleep, babies must learn how to self-soothe. The best way to teach babies how to fall back to sleep—when they rouse in the middle of the night—is to wake them just as they’re being put into bed.

How to enjoy the benefits - and avoid the risks - of swaddling: Swaddling dramatically improves a new baby’s sleep. Yet, many states are shockingly banning this ancient parenting tool. Smart moms should do it and Dr. Karp will teach them how to do it properly and safely.

The importance of powering down: Staring at bright screens at night (TVs, computers, phones) can wreak a toddler and a parent’s sleep.

Easy "no-cry" tips that end infant and toddler bedtime struggles in just days!

With THE HAPPIEST BABY GUIDE TO GREAT SLEEP, no longer will new parent have to suffer months of sleep deprivation and no longer will babies have to cry themselves to sleep. Backed by compelling science, common sense and decades of experience, Dr. Karp’s landmark guide will revolutionize how millions of children drift off to dreamland.

Disclosure: “I am participating in a book review campaign with One2One Network. My review, I cannot begin to tell you how much I was very impressed with this book . As the mother of 4 and a grandmother of 3 I found it to be one of the best books that I have read about helping children go to sleep at night. I give this book a 5/5. It not only talks about getting children to go to sleep at night, it actually gives some of the reasons why this is happening. I received this book from Harper Collins for the purposes of reviewing it. I have not received compensation. My participation in the campaign enters me into a drawing for a gift card. All opinions stated are my own.”
