When Time Stands Still by Sara Furlong Burr Book Tour & Giveaway

When Time Stands Still
by Sara Furlong-Burr
Genre: Romance

It’s been nearly a decade since Elle Sloan last saw Luke Hutchins. Close to ten years since she broke up with him over a single phone call, providing him with little explanation. Since the end of their relationship, Elle has done everything she could do to move on, marrying, proceeding forward with her life, almost allowing herself to completely forget about Luke.

Almost.

Out of nowhere, Elle receives a phone call from Luke’s mother. Luke has been in a horrific car accident and, a month later, has just awoken from a coma. However, instead of celebrating, his family is stunned to learn that Luke is suffering from amnesia and only remembers his life as it was before his breakup with Elle. Not wanting to tell Luke that he and Elle aren’t together anymore for fear it may compromise his recovery, Elle is asked by Luke’s family to come to the hospital to see him. Their hope is that she will slowly be able to jog his memory and cushion the blow.

Guilt-ridden over how their relationship ended, Elle readily agrees, finding herself transported back in time with Luke to the life they once shared and the future they could have had together.

Sara "Furlong" Burr was born and raised in Michigan and currently still lives there with her husband, two daughters, a high-strung Lab, and three judgmental cats. When she's not writing, Sara enjoys reading, camping, spending time with her family, and attempting to paint while consuming more amaretto sours than she cares to admit. Book Description:

With only weeks until graduation from Gray Cliffs Academy, Reese has his eye on breaking free. He wants out of this school and to get away from the people who sent him there. Being summoned to the headmaster’s office was no big deal, until he and his school mates are swept away into a wicked storm that tossed Reese into an underground world full of danger and evil beings. His only hope of escaping this underground world is to learn how to harness his magnetic magic and travel through the underground city to reach a portal that will transport him back to the school.

But time is running out! With the help of Raven, a young girl who’s been trapped in that underground city, Reese must get to the portal before it closes while navigating the tunnels and minefields of the underground world and those who want them dead! Can he harness his magnetic magic when needed and use it to his advantage when needed in order to stay alive long enough to make it home?

Excerpt:
He breathed deeply, and he ran past the bridge, wanting to turn back. But then the vibration in his pocket ate into his concentration and pulled his focus away from the track ahead of him and the missed opportunity to escape. Reese tried to ignore it and kept running. But the vibration grew stronger until an audible hum cut through all the noise in his head. It was so loud and the energy inside him was so strong that Reese felt as if he could shatter into a million pieces like glass.
A small whimper beside him startled him. Raven. He couldn’t see her. But he heard her quiet cry of distress. She was there in his mind, curled into a ball on the side of the track. He slowed down as he approached her.
“Keep going. Don’t stop for anything or anyone,” Endel said as he got closer to Raven. She lifted her face to him. The sun glistened off the tears on her cheeks as she cried.
“She needs me.”
“No. Keep breathing. Breathe deeply and drink it in.”
The sound of Raven’s cries weren’t in his head. They were real. He could feel her fear as if it was tangible. Suddenly she was no longer sitting on the track. She was sitting right next to him on that crate curled into a ball.
Reese opened his eyes and reared back in his seat so far he nearly fell off the stool. Light assaulted his eyes making him squint from its brightness. The room was aglow, completely illuminated up to the ceiling that towered above him. The center column was like a tornado of fire, swirling around the center and continuing up to the bulbs. One by one the bulbs exploded into a spray or sparks that rained down into the room.
Raven crouched down under the table. “Make it stop!”
“How?” Reese asked. He flew off the chair and backed against the wall. Endel stood by the column as if he were completely unaffected by the heat.
A memory that had been lost in the recesses of his mind suddenly came back with glaring clarity. He’d been in the kitchen of the small house he lived in with his parents. They’d still been together then. He didn’t remember how it started. But he remembered the electrical sockets in the kitchen sizzling and then burning. Then the toaster blew up and caught on fire. He’d been a young boy then. He remembered his father coming into the kitchen and yelling at him, while his mother was trying to calm him down, telling his dad that he didn’t know what he was doing.
Reese blinked his eyes to clear the memory and the pain of remembering it caused. He ran to the table and found Raven just as she’d been in his vision, curled up in a ball crying. She looked up at him with wide eyes as he held a hand out to her.
As his breathing calmed, the light in the room began to fade. Not completely. It was still bright enough to see far more than he’d been able to see when they’d first come into the room.
“Jeez, that was intense. Are you okay?” Reese asked, crouching down next to her when she didn’t take his offer of helping her to her feet.
Raven pointed to the cylinder in the center of the room. “You did that, Reese.”
He blinked hard and tried to focus on the bright ball in the center of the room until it dimmed enough for him to really look at it. “That thing? No way.”
She nodded.
“Can’t be. How could anyone do something like that?” Reese looked at Endel who seemed unaffected by what they’d experienced. Fear clutched him, making it hard to breathe. The lights flickered and then dimmed more.
The cylinder that had been cold and lifeless earlier was no longer the ball of fire it was when he’d opened his eyes. But it was still humming and alive with bright colors and sparks.
“I don’t know what did whatever that was, but it wasn’t me. When I opened my eyes, I thought the room was going to blow up. I’ve never seen anything like that before.”
“Nor should you have,” Endel said. “It’s not a natural thing. All living things have energy. We have many more abilities than we ever attempt to utilize, which is a shame. We are all powerful creatures. Some people have gifts. What you just witnessed, yungin’, was a gift.”
“You mean I almost blew this room up?” Reese looked around as the room slowly returned to normal. “That’s freaking awesome!”
Endel grunted. “Obviously for some people with attitude, it may be a curse. I’m still deciding which it is for you.”

THE FINAL BOOK OF THE SENTINELS OF NEW ORLEANS SERIES

Frenchman Street
Sentinels of New Orleans
Book Six
Suzanne Johnson

Genre: Urban Fantasy

Publisher: Suzanne Johnson

Date of Publication:  July 24, 2018

ISBN: 978-0-9968220-4-6
ASIN:

Number of pages: 352
Word Count: approx. 99,250

Cover Artist: Robin Ludwig Design Inc.

Book Description:

The uneasy truce between the preternatural species of New Orleans has shattered, with wizards and elves, shifters and vampires—not to mention the historical undead—struggling for ultimate control of the city, including the humans who still think they’re atop the food chain.

They aren’t, however—and the Summer Prince of Faerie wants them to know it.

Stuck in the middle? One unemployed wizard sentinel. For DJ Jaco, war makes for strange bedfellows as she finally embraces her wizard-elven heritage and strikes a deal with the devil so she and her ragtag band of allies can return to defend her hometown. After all, when the undead French pirate Jean Lafitte is the mayor’s newest consultant, things could go horribly wrong.

War is coming to New Orleans in time for Mardi Gras, with the elves and wizards lined up on opposite sides, the shifters with a new leader, the vampires promising loyalty to the highest bidder, and the soul of the Crescent City resting on the outcome of the civil war going on in Faerie between the rival princes of summer and winter.

Mardi Gras Day is approaching fast, and the line between friends and enemies grows thin as DJ tries to stave off open warfare on the St. Charles Avenue parade route.

Laissez les bons temps rouler…but be careful, or the good times might roll too close for comfort.

Excerpt:

I turned to glare at the unicorn. It was hanging around for some reason.
“Can you talk? If not, what are you waiting for?” I made a shooing motion. “Go home to your whack-job master.”
Because we needed to find out how it got to our remote beach in the Beyond.
“I’ll find a rope—maybe we can make a halter,” Rene said, walking toward the house.
Jean also seemed to have had his fill of unicorn wrangling. “Bah. I shall depart for Old Orleans, Drusilla. There are people with whom I must discuss matters of import, and perhaps I might discover the truth about Christof.”
Fine. Leave me with the merman and the unicorn.
He turned and walked into the transport, disappearing in seconds. He hadn’t removed his boots, but he had held his pistol out of the water. The pirate had his priorities straight.
            “Here is my message.”
I whirled to look at the unicorn, who was now doing his best Mr. Ed impression.
“I knew it.” That freaking unicorn could talk; he’d been waiting to get me alone.
I held up the elven staff, and the unicorn had the good sense to back up a couple of steps. I slipped my left hand into my jeans pocket, fingering a couple of potions I’d cooked up in this rustic paradise using a generator-powered hot plate and my own blood. My physical magic wouldn’t work outside the human world, but my potions and charms were fine. The staff worked everywhere.
“Okay, start talking, horse.”
The unicorn managed to look offended. “Here is my message,” he repeated. “His Royal Majesty Florian will be crowned King of Faerie and of All Species of Earth and Beyond in two weeks. You are—”
“Wait.” I shook the staff at him, and sparks flew out its tip. “What do you mean, ‘King of Faerie and of All Species of Earth and Beyond’?”
What in the name of Merlin was that madman up to?
The unicorn tossed his head and looked even grumpier. “Here is my message,” he repeated for the third time. “His Royal Majesty Florian will be crowned King of Faerie and of All Species of Earth and Beyond in two weeks. You are invited to attend and pledge fealty at his coronation in New Orleans at the apex of the celebration the humans call Mardi Gras. Should you die before the appointed time, this invitation may be considered null and void.”
And with that, the unicorn turned, took a big, steaming dump on the sand near my feet, and made to trot back down the beach from whence he came. I flipped the lid off one of the charms in my pocket, chased him down the beach, and tossed it on him. I only hit his tail, which, considering it was a freezing charm, only made said tail freeze at a ninety-degree angle.
“Stop, unicorn, or I’ll toast your rump like a potroast!” I yelled, aiming the staff. I sent a warning zap of fire onto his rump. My aim had improved a lot in months since I’d blown up my own SUV and burned down half of Six Flags New Orleans. I’d had lots of time to practice.
Unfortunately, the shot only made the unicorn fly into a gallop. I had no choice but to run after him and hope I could keep him in sight by moonlight.

Road Rage The Blog Book 1 by Two Sharpe Book Tour & Giveaway

Unleashed
Road Rage: The Blog Book 1
by Two Sharpe
Genre: Murder Thriller

On October 30th, a man calling himself Simon started a blog, Road Rage. He claimed that he was going to kill several people that offended him with their belligerent driving style. After several claimed murders, the FBI assigned Special Agent Monique “Nikki” Sebastian, to the case to monitor the blog and see if she could start a dialog with the suspected serial killer, to possibly verify his claims. Very quickly, Nikki realized that not only was Simon doing exactly what he claimed, she found that he is not your run of the mill serial killer. Simon seems to function with some sort of moral code and the victims he chooses may very well be deserving of the attention given. Nikki also found that she was not sure who was hunting whom, as the communication between her and Simon became very personal.

As you get to know Simon and the Rage that he carries with him, you will find there is a lot more to this man than some random serial killer. He is a man with very unique “problem solving” skills and he really enjoys his work and the mission he has taken on to help rid the world of some really unnecessary… bad drivers…

Unleashed” is the first in the Road Rage the Blog series of novels. The books contain adult language and graphic violence. Enter at your own risk because you just might agree with Simon’s mission.

Two Sharpe Publishing was created as a company to publish some books that my daughter and I wrote together.  This was not something Amanda nor I had ever even dreamed of, but then life has a way of sending you down the path that it wants… regardless of where you were planning on going.
On September 16, 2015, Amanda’s husband Kevin was on his way home from work late one night and was waiting for traffic to clear in the left turn lane about a mile from their home.  A drunk driver coming from behind Kevin, at what was estimated 75 mph in a 45 mph zone, veered out of the travel lanes and struck Kevin in the rear of his Dodge Neon with a full-size SUV.  Kevin was killed instantly in the crash.
Several months after Kevin’s death, Amanda wrote an autobiography of her life with Kevin called Stolen and she asked me if I would help edit the book.  Once we put the finishing touches on Stolen, we decided we would cowrite a fictional series called The Charly Stevens series.
People deal with the loss of a loved one in many different ways. After starting the Charly Stevens Series, we came up with another fictional series called Road Rage The Blog. It is a real time blog written by Simon, a man who has a great deal of rage, especially when he gets in a car.
Once we had an idea for the above projects, we needed a Social Engineer to handle publishing, website development, cover art, and social media for our company.  We were lucky enough to convince Kris Spoon to join our team.  Kris has a wide range of experience in the world of publishing and social media and has used those unique skills to create a platform for not only the works we have created to date, but for those to come.  We hope in the future to be able to help other authors bring their works to life through our company.
Thank you for reading about Two Sharpe Publishing!
