BLURB:

The SEAL's Angel is the third story in the Mystery Angel Romance [MAR] series. Each stand-alone love story in the series has an angel hidden in the plot, and the angel's identity isn't revealed until the finale -- unless the reader figures it out first.

In The SEAL's Angel, Navy SEAL Sean MacKay's teammate is murdered after stealing a deadly nerve-gas formula from Syrian terrorists. Naval Intelligence believes MacKay's teammate was a traitor and shipped the stolen formula to his sister in the states for safekeeping. MacKay is given orders to find the sister before the terrorists do and to retrieve the stolen formula at all costs.

Foreclosure looms for Cory Rigatero as she fights to keep her rustic resort near Mt. St. Helens afloat after her brother deserted her to join the SEAL Teams. Cory's whole world dives into a tailspin when Sean MacKay shows up at her resort with the news of her brother's death and the wild suspicion her brother may have sent her traitorous classified documents. No way will Cory trust MacKay -- the man who once seduced her and then vanished into the night without a trace.

Excerpt

Her assailant wrestled her further into the cabin. Cory fought with everything she had until she spied Vern sprawled on the floor behind her desk. She gasped into the cloth and ceased her struggling. Was Vern dead? Rage welled up, and she redoubled her efforts to break free, breathing heavily now. A wave of dizziness swamped her and made it hard to connect with her punches and kicks. Must be drugs in the cloth.

"Be still," her assailant growled. His fetid breath washed over her cheek.

Dear Lord, it was him! The Syrian who'd attacked her in her bedroom.

She jerked her head fiercely to get free of the tainted cloth, feeling weaker with each attempt. The sound of shattering glass penetrated the haze trying to settle over her mind. A spine-tingling snarl echoed close by.

Cory cried out beneath the cloth, but her movements grew labored. A loud wail erupted near her head, and the cloth fell away from her face. She greedily sucked in gulps of fresh oxygen as the sound of shrieks and snarls mixed together in the close quarters of the cabin. She tried to shake off the muddled haze as her assailant wrestled a dark form on the floor.

Garth?

The front window was non-existent save for a few jagged pieces of glass still clinging to the frame. Garth had her assailant on the floor, his jaws shaking the man's arm side to side. She looked around for a weapon. She had to help Garth.

Man and dog wrestled across the floor. Vern suddenly groaned, and Cory flew to his side. As she tried to roll him over, she felt the thirty-eight lodged in his back waistband. She snatched the gun and reared up right as Garth yelped from a kick to his ribs. The assailant broke free of the Lab and spied Cory aiming the gun.

AUTHOR Bio and Links:

Petie spent a large part of her career working as a biologist at Walt Disney World -- "The Most Magical Place on Earth" -- where she enjoyed working in the land of fairy tales by day and creating her own romantic fairy tales by night. She eventually said good-bye to her "day" job in order to write her stories full-time.

Petie is a member of Romance Writers of America, and she shares homes in Tennessee and Florida with her horticulturist husband, a spoiled-rotten English Springer spaniel addicted to pimento-stuffed green olives, and a noisy Nanday conure named Sassy who made a cameo appearance in Angel to the Rescue.
