NLB Horton
After an award-winning detour through journalism and marketing and a graduate degree from Dallas Theological Seminary, NLB Horton returned to writing fiction. She has surveyed Israeli and Jordanian archaeological digs accompanied (twice!) by heavy artillery rounds from Syria and machine gun fire from Lebanon. Calmly tossed a tarantula from her skiff into the Amazon after training with an Incan shaman. Driven uneventfully through Rome. And consumed gallons of afternoon tea across five continents. Her first novel, WHEN CAMELS FLY, was released in May, 2014.THE BROTHERS' KEEPERS her second in the Parched series, will be released November 17, 2014. The third in the series will release in the fall of 2015.My review ;
I just finished reading The Brother's Keeper and I liked it. I liked the storyline and the main character, Grace Madison. What can a mother do when you are in another country and you are told that your daughter is missing far away from you? Why has your daughter-in-law been attacked? The novel is full of suspense and action. Grace has to travel to find out why. The author NLB Horton has written a great novel. I give this book a 4/5. I was given this book for the purpose of a review and all opinions are my own.
I'm glad you enjoyed the book. I really enjoyed 'the first book 'When Camels Fly'. Good luck on your first tour NLB! Well see you in January for your second tour!
ReplyDeleteThanks for your review of The Brothers' Keepers, Ms. Gaudette. It's a joy to share archaeologist Grace Madison with your readers. And Teddy, good to see you here. I appreciate the efforts of so many in the blogosphere, and thank you both for spreading the word about my work. NLBH
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed this book because I enjoy reading a novel that makes me think. Sometimes it's enjoyable to read a book that doesn't make you think, but my favorite are types like this one. It's complex yet you're going to want to keep reading into the night! You're constantly trying to figure out what will happen next. I love the characters - good and bad - that bring this story alive.
