be my banshee
by Joyce and Jim Lavene

I loved, loved this book, the story, the characters. I couldn’t out it down once I started reading. This is a great start to a new series.
~Tea and A Book
I think this is going to be an interesting series! It is more on the fantasy side with witches, werewolves, shape shifters and the like.
~Storeybook Reviews
The best way to describe this book is paranormal meets cozy mystery. You get the best of both worlds with this one.
~Socrates’ Book Reviews…
I love this book. The cast of characters are incredible and the story line so well written you will be instantly caught up in what is going on and you won’t be able to take your eyes of the pages.
~Shelley’s Book Case
I fell completely under the spell of Sunshine Merryweather. She is a breath of fresh air! So sassy! She reminded me of myself, to be perfectly honest.
~Bubby at Bubble Bath Books
I was intrigued right away by the title and then the description. I love cozies with a paranormal element, and this fit the bill.
~Brooke Blogs
And once again, these authors kept me hostage as their characters came to life on the pages.

Sunshine Merryweather is a young witch with a passion for colorful clothes and good food. She is the owner/operator of the Purple Door Detective Agency. Her partner, John, was brutally murdered three days ago, and she won’t stop until she finds his killer.
Aine is only interested in one thing when she walks into the building with the purple door–locating the last man alive in the branch of the O’Neill family she haunts as a beane sidhe. She has been asleep for 200 years in a ruined Irish castle and realizes that the world has moved on without her. She needs to find the O’Neill heir and encourage him to start a family or she will pass from existence when he dies.
Sunshine sees a potential partner when she looks at the powerful beane sidhe – they could be the next Dynamic Duo! But Aine isn’t interested in Sunshine’s schemes – until the witch agrees to help her locate O’Neill. Even then, it will be a short-term association at best from Aine’s point of view. She has no need of witchcraft.
Neither woman is aware of the danger they face as an ancient assassin stalks the old port city of Norfolk, Virginia. It will take more than simple witchcraft or beane sidhe magic to stop the killer. They will have to work together and combine their talents.
But can Sunshine and Aine put aside their differences to stop the murders without tearing each other apart?

GUEST POST;
3 Partners in Shopping, Nana, Mommy, & Sissy, Too!  would like to thank authors Joyce and Jim Lavene for sharing their thoughts with us today.
Ten Questions Most Frequently Asked
By Joyce and Jim Lavene
There are top five questions that we’re constantly asked wherever we go. They pretty much have the same answers each time, with small changes according to the book we’re talking about. Here they are all at once.
1. Why do you write fiction?
A. Because we like it better than non-fiction. We both wrote for local newspapers for years and while some of it was fun, most of it wasn’t. We read fiction more than non-fiction too.
2. Why don’t you write more blood and guts stuff or a put lot of sex into your books?
A. Because we have to live 24/7 with the characters and events we put into a book. For us, that leaves out a lot of violence or rampant sex. That’s just not us. We leave that to the other writers.
3. How do you write together?
A. We come up with characters first. Sunshine Merryweather, the witch from Be My Banshee, was first in this book. Aine came next and then the mouse shifter. We write a synopsis that’s full of our ideas and then we think about it for several months until we’re ready to write. We sit down at our computers that are networked together (we can see what we’re both writing) and write a draft of the book. After that it has to be revised and edited before we send it off to other editors and readers. Then it’s put into publication.
4. How do you do it (work together)? I’d kill my spouse if I had to work with him/her.
A. We worked together for many years at an office supply business that we founded. We’ve always worked well together which may or may not have something to do with our long-term marriage too. That’s hard to say. Not everyone is meant to work together.
5. Where do you get your ideas?
A. Ideas come from everywhere. We were riding by an abandoned volunteer fire station when we thought of the Sweet Pepper Mysteries. We saw a pumpkin farm when we decided to write the Pumpkin Patch Mysteries. There is never a lack of good ideas. There is only a lack of time to write them or the belief that they can sustain a novel-length manuscript.
