by Teresa Trent

I am so happy to be here on tour with my latest mystery, Murder for a Rainy Day. This is the sixth book in my Pecan Bayou Mystery series. Pecan Bayou is a tiny Texas town, where amateur sleuth, Betsy Livingston is a helpful hints writer. Her attention to detail and catalog of helpful hints and recipes makes her an excellent detective.

If you want to catch up with the series and start with the first mystery here is the complete list.

#1 A Dash of Murder - a Halloween ghost hunting mystery

#2 Overdue for Murder - a library mystery

#3 Doggone Dead - a Fourth of July mystery

#4 Buzzkill - a wedding mystery

#5 Burnout - a Thanksgiving mystery

#6 Murder for a Rainy Day - an extreme weather mystery

Guest post, Thank you so much to author Teresa Trent for being with us today,

In this book it was quite a challenge to write for Betsy because she is eight and a half months pregnant and is still needing the energy to chase after a killer. Any mom can tell you at that point in a pregnancy, your body craves taking a nap. Every time Betsy takes a nap, she is visited by a ghost who is a murder victim who appeared somewhere in the first five books. Some of these victims never had a voice in the earlier books so as I finish off the Pecan Bayou Series everyone gets a say.

I included these ghostly visits because like many women, I had some vivid dreams in my own pregnancies. I wanted that to be a part of Betsy's pregnancy, but of course, she would dream about mysteries to solve! If you could have anyone at all from your past visit you in a dream, who would it be? Would it be a relative? A famous person? Someone you admire? For me it would be my parents. To spend one more day, one more hour, one more minute with them would be wonderful.

Betsy gets the opportunity to talk to these people, but in death they are the same people they were in life. Some push her around, some are rude, and some are friendly, but they all have a cryptic message to will help her solve the mystery.

I tried to get as many of the characters my readers have loved in past books in the story and have included a few new faces. So get yourself a piece of Bennie's Cocoa Pecan Pie and settle into a comfy chair. It's going to be a stormy night in Pecan Bayou.

And for you shoppers out there, if you can wait a couple of days--Murder for a Rainy Day will be FREE on Kindle December 4th and 5th.

About This Author
Teresa Trent writes her Pecan Bayou Mystery Series from Houston, Texas.  With a father in the army, her family moved often finally settling in Colorado.  Living in Texas for the last 19 years she loves the people and even the weather.  Murder for a Rainy Day includes a hurricane, and having endured Hurricane Ike and Hurricane Rita with her family, Teresa would much rather write about them than evacuate from them.   Teresa includes Danny, a character with Down Syndrome in her Pecan Bayou family and in real life is the mother of an adult son with Down Syndrome/PDD.  Creating the character of Danny and all of the other inhabitants of Pecan Bayou has been a joy for her.  This book is the last one in the Pecan Bayou Series taking Betsy from single mom to mother of three.  Teresa is now working on her next series that will take place in the Piney Woods of Texas.
