Since my teenage years, stories have popped into my head with an urge to
be committed to paper. Many, many times I sat down and started to write
the first word, sentence, paragraph, page, even chapter, but, for some
reason, I never got very far.
It
wasn’t that the idea died. No, the idea stayed—what died was my
resolve. Writing takes a lot of different talents. Two very important
ones are patience and perseverance. It takes so much more than just a
great concept. It wasn’t until I understood this that writing became
significant for me, and I finally started doing it with a real purpose.
Writing
has changed my life for the better. It has taught me that all
worthwhile things take time to accomplish, that projects don’t have to
be completed overnight, and time doesn’t pass in vain—a little bit every
day can build into a whole lot over time . . . if you’re constant.
I
believe I was born a storyteller, but it took some effort to turn
myself into an author. Now, that I’ve become one, I know I’ll always be
one. Writing is part of me. I’ve caught the bug, no question about it J
As
far as where I get inspiration for characters, I believe it is a
combination of things. Movies, people I know, even a song sometimes. But
mostly, it’s my imagination. Some characters just come to life for me
for one reason or another. They become real individuals in my mind. Some
are so real that they refuse to do what I tell them to do. It’s the
weirdest thing!
Writing is my passion. I hope my readers can see that passion come to life on the page.

Of all things, he
was wearing a tight vest, and—if I were honest—I’d have to say
he was rocking it. The fit was tailored to perfection. It was
two-toned, gray in the front and black satin in the back. Under it,
he wore a white dress shirt, rolled up to the elbows. For pants, he
wore dark jeans that fit him like a surgical glove. His black shoes
were polished and looked brand new.
