Tadpole Science Project

Mommy's little sister Auntie Icky http://dealsharingaunt.blogspot.com went to her friend's  house who had a pond with a lot of tadpoles in it. She decided to bring some back and let Bobo and Sissy put them in a fish tank and watch them transform. Then we will let them put them into Nana's koi fish pond, because they will live there very happily. Auntie Icky and Mommy checked at Cabela's store in East Hartford to see the best way to do this. They have huge trout and other fish there. We will post the pictures as soon as possible.

We had a lot of fun while were there looking at all of the stuffed animals, a real airplane and more. They have a really cool robotic camper who talks about the history of hunting in Connecticut. There is a huge rocky mountain in the middle of the store which has trees, foliage and cliffs. There are goats and more shown in their natural state.
There are bears trying to get at a bee hive and other bears fighting. These are breathtaking up close and actually scared some kids. This is a great trip when you are learning about animals and where they live. Of course, what would a trip be without a stop at the General Store inside to buy some homemade fudge?

    More about Postcards

Misty Harbor Inn officially opens, and Gracie Gold, the middle Marris sister, wrestles with an overwhelming decision. As the sisters learn the day-to-day workings of running an inn, Gracie counsels its first guests, newlyweds whose honeymoon seems to be ending before it begins. Meanwhile, Sam’s discovery of a clue in a secret room sheds unflattering light on Hannah Montague, who vanished from the house more than one hundred years ago. And as Gracie and Caroline welcome guests to the inn, they are delighted to see how God uses it — and them — to deepen relationships and transform lives.

The Postcards from Misty Harbor Inn series (Guideposts Books) introduces readers to Caroline, Gracie and Sam as they gather for a vacation where they spent the summers as children, and follows their adventures as they fulfill their mother’s dream of opening a bed and breakfast. As the sisters heal from their mother’s passing, they bond in ways they never imagined and discover evidence of God’s hand in the unlikeliest of circumstances.
A team of four authors come together under the pen name of Evangeline Kelley to bring the unique personalities of each sister to vivid life and welcome audiences to the charming and historic island of Nantucket, complete with cobblestone streets, quaint shops, ferries, sandy beaches and salty air.
    Seaside Harmony
Three sisters, a charming inn, hints of mystery and romance, and a gorgeous seaside setting. Summer reading at its finest!
When Caroline Marris joins her sisters, Gracie Gold and Sam Carter for a Nantucket Island getaway, she has no idea how it will change her life. The sisters stumble upon Misty Harbor Inn, the place their late mother loved so much, and Caroline talks her sisters into buying the beautiful but dilapidated inn. But can free-spirited Caroline stay focused enough to make opening the inn a reality? Hand-drawn old postcards draw the sisters into the mystery of Hannah Montague, the young widow of the original owner. Can the sisters uncover the fate of this woman who disappeared in 1880? As Caroline and her sisters work together to make their mom’s dream a reality, they bond in ways they never expected.

My review; When I first started to read the first book in this series I was totally in love with it. Who would not want to think about buying an old house on the beach and fixing it up. Three sisters have come back to a place that they used to go when they were children and one of them wishes to buy an old beach house there. The problem is that she must convince her other two sisters. The sisters remember how much they loved each other and how to love and help others around them. Just like other old houses this one also hides a mystery of it's own. This series is the result of 4 authors working together to write these books. They make you feel like you are actually at the beach and you can feel the cool air around you. I give both of these books a 5/5. I want to read more about these wonderful women and their new path in life. I was given this book by Litfuse Publishing Group for the purpose of a review and all opinions are my own.

Get Back Up by Sheryl Giesbrecht Book Review

Get Back Up, Trusting God When Life Knocks You Down by Sheryl Giesbrecht is a book full of what some might call miracles in the lives of everyday people. She shares with us not only her own worst nightmares, but the nightmares of others who have sought her help.

Trusting God When Life Knocks You Down
Life is not always easy or fair for the follower of Christ. Yet, Sheryl Giesbrecht has learned, from the depths of past pain, it is possible to be raised up. It is possible to heal. Most importantly, it is possible to exchange hurt for hope. In her inspirational new book, Get Back Up: Trusting God When Life Knocks You Down,
Sheryl tells her own story. She uses scripture to tell the stories of so many other Biblical figures who stumbled before they could be helped up. Sheryl’s message is one of hope. Trusting God in the midst of a life turned upside down is essential to survival. Without Him, life would not be worth living. Climbing out of the pits of despair would be impossible. Yes, with God to lean on, finding hope is possible. Healing is possible. God is capable of taking our losses and mistakes and turning them into something remarkably beautiful. Won’t you let Him?"

    About the Author

Exchanging hurt for hope is Sheryl Giesbrecht’s focus—a message she shares with audiences as a radio personality, author and speaker. A dynamic teacher and motivating leader, Giesbrecht has endured many changes and challenges, moving her to a deep faith, trust and dependence on God.
She served as Focus on the Family’s columnist for Pastor’s Wives for four years. Hundreds of her columns, magazine and devotional articles have appeared in Focus on The Family Magazine, Just Between Us, Discipleship Journal, CCM, Walk Thru the Bible’s – InDeed and Tapestry publications.
Giesbrecht’s radio show, “Kindred Moments,” can be heard each weekday evening and
Sunday afternoons on KAXL 88.3 FM Music for Life (www.KAXL.com), and her nationally syndicated radio show, “Turn Up the Music
is heard on numerous networks across the United States (www.KERN.com).

She also has a heart for missions and is avid about reaching out to the poor and needy, locally through the Rescue Mission and worldwide through Compassion International. Giesbrecht is also the Executive Director of International Christian Ministries (www.ICMUSA.org) and has been personally involved with equipping hundreds and facilitating the training of thousands of leaders internationally. It is a ministry in which she worked alongside her late husband, Paul .
The joys of Giesbrecht’s life are her two children, son-in-law and memories of the time spent with her beloved husband. Sheryl holds a bachelor of arts from Biola University, a master’s in ministry and a doctorate of theology.
Learn more about Sheryl Giesbrecht on her website, www.FromAshesToBeauty.com. She also invites readers to follow her on Facebook and on Twitter (@SGiesbrecht

My Review; I read Sheryl Giesbrecht's story I was deeply touched. Not only by the personal accounts of so many others, but also her telling of her own experiences good and bad. She talks of how she coped and carried on after she lost her husband in a tragic accident. I know what it feels like to lose a spouse of many years suddenly, and she tells her story with much feeling and love for not only her late husband but also her children. I give this book a 5/5 and I recommend it to anyone who has suffered a loss or has survived what seems to be the impossible. I was given this book by Litfuse Publicity Group but all opinions are my own.

A Matter of Fate by Ellie Heller Spotlight and Review

    A Matter of Fate
    Ellie Heller

Genre: Paranormal Romance/ Contemporary Fantasy Romance

    Publisher: Crimson Romance

    Book Description:

Someone is setting death-spells targeting mortals and elf blood alike. With her mentor out of commission, it’s up to half-trained Warder Mona Lisa Kubrek to stop the magic. Despite being told repeatedly her job is to nullify spells and not go after the source, too many people are at risk for her to not track the spell-caster down. Even meeting a sexy half-elf shifter won’t distract her from her goal.

Except Cart Dupree is fully trained and has the team to search for the evildoer, so she’d be stupid to not use his expertise. Stupid is something she can’t afford to be, not with her enemy’s henchmen after her. Later she’ll deal with Cart and his questions about her special abilities and the non-standard training her mentor has given her. Right now, they need to unravel where the magician is, and who he is, before he builds enough power to decimate them all.

My Review ;  Even though Mona Lisa Krubek is only a half-trained Warder she must find the one responsible for setting death spells on elf blood and mortals.  While she is trying to solve the mystery she realizes that she needs help and accepts the help of a hot sexy half-elf shifter named Cart Dupree. It was a great book which had romance as well as danger. While they fight to find the magician and stop him, Mona Lisa has to focus on staying alive and not getting too close to Cate. I give this book a 5/5.  I loved every page. I was given this book by Bewitching Book Tours for the purpose of a review and all opinions are 100% my own.

It's Not Your Fault and I Can Prove It by Steve Shenk Book Review and Giveaway

    About the book
This book will probably change your life from the day you start to read it.
During his 30 years building the storable food industry, author Steve Shenk met hundreds of people who shared their struggles and triumphs. As a result, he came to understand much about the human experience. Steve realized that after the basic need of food is met in every person's life, there is an opportunity to go further and even reach magnificence. The author will share many thought with you and will change your mind about the way that you think and the way that you go forward in your life.
    My review
It is not often that a book comes along that seems to relate to any and all that read it. It's Not Your Fault by Steve Shenk is that kind of book. All of us in life want to know everything.  The Guardian is the person who is answering any questions that Michael. a student who is like all of us who want the answers. The Guardian tries to explain the Four Universal Laws,  Law#1 The Law of Me...........Law#2 Agency................Law #3 The Law of Justice and #4  The Law of Creation.
He shares with us, the reader, that somethings really are not you fault and you must understand that and move ahead. He tries to explain to us that the past has to be thought about and to change what you can and forget what you cannot change. The Guardian has a Six-Step Process to show that the past does not exist.
This is the kind of book that you will read and then come back to read certain pages again and again. I really enjoyed this book and I can see things a little differently.  I give this book a 5/5 and I recommend it to anyone who is asking the tough questions. I was given this book by MomSelect as part of a promotion for the purpose of a  review and all opinions are my own..

Darkness Before Dawn By Ace Collins Book Review

Brighten your day with Ace Collins' Retribution v. Redemption 12-Day Challenge

About Darkness Before Dawn: Will grief push Meg over the edge?
On the same night she discovers she is pregnant, twenty-eight-year-old nurse Meg Richards's husband is killed in an auto accident caused by a drunken teen. James Thomas comes from one of the most influential families in the community. He's a star athlete and glamour boy at the local high school. But the accident he caused will change his life---and Meg's future---forever.
Angered by her senseless loss and facing life as a single mother, Meg blames God for what has happened and considers a decision that could change her life even further. Enraged by the brutal trial and the court's decision, Meg starts down a frightening path of retribution. When the opportunity for revenge comes unexpectedly, will Meg follow through? Or will the remnants of her faith lead her in a different direction?

Seattle: Tragedy brings out either the best in us or the worst. However, it is nearly impossible to predict what a person’s response will be until something life-changing happens. In his latest release, Darkness Before Dawn(Abingdon Press / March 1, 2013 / ISBN: 978-1426714672 / $14.99), best-selling author Ace Collins tells the heart-wrenching story of a young woman’s pursuit of justice after losing her husband in a senseless accident that never had to happen.

    My Review;
From the first page I was hooked. I could feel every feeling that Meg Richards had because the author, Ace Collins made her into a wonderful character that made you upset because of what has happened to her. It is easy to  understand how she acts the way she does. James Thomas is a popular boy at the local high school and his parents are very well known with a lot of influence. How does anyone move on after their husband is killed by a drunken teen in an auto accident?  How does someone cope with the knowledge that she has just found out today that she is pregnant? Will Meg become a different woman and blame God? I give this book a 5/5. I was given this book for a review by Litfuse Publicity Group, and all opinions are 100% my own.

The X by Lorena Bathey A Book Review

I was so engrossed when I started to read this book that I had to for myself to put it down. An average housewife named Clarissa Hadonfield goes to bed one night, thinking that everything will be the same the next morning, only to wake up to a world that she has never even thought of. Her husband of 20 years has asked for divorce with no explanation, and he is a man she no longer recognises. To her amazment her husband is trying to take her boys from her anyway that he can think of. The only way that Clarissa can even hope to try to get her kids back, is to become a strong woman ready to fight for herself, and her family. I found myself rooting for Clarissa, crying for Clarissa and the rooting for her all over again. The twists and turns were very surprising. I give this book a 5/5. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Joint Support For Small Dogs Review

Our family loves Shih Tzu"s. These are small dogs. When I was given the opportunity to review this I jumped at the chance. Our dogs are getting older and when small dogs get older they get arthritis which is very painful. For the first 6 weeks you use a larger dose and then lower the dose.     The highest ingredient is Glucosamine. This worked really great the dogs loved it because they were soft and easy to chew.
This is Beau he has been taking this for a few weeks and it has been working well. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

    My review;
Unexpecting by Lori Verni-Fogarsi lives up to it's title. Just when Shelly and David think it's okay to order white furniture and go on a wonderful vacation, a seventeen year old girl named Alexandra shows up at their door and tells them that she is their daughter. Shelley alone when she answers the door, starts to doubt her marriage and her husband. Then Alexandra explains that she is David's daughter and her mother never told him about her. Now what are they going to do?
Although this book is fiction it could very well be real. Scenes like this are happening everyday. Almost everyone you know has a older child living with them. LoriVerni-Fogarsi tells this story with love and humor mixed in. She brings you on a rollercoaster ride filled with almost daily trials and decisions that have to be made.  Whenever any decision is made Shelly and David must make it together do what is best for their WHOLE family.
I loved this book from the first page to the last. I found myself laughing, crying and trying to think about what I would do in their place. Thank you Lori for writing a book that shows other parents in Shelly and David's place, that this is more common than they think. I give this book a 5/5 but I wish I could give it more.

A Noble Groom by Jody Hedlund A Book Review

    About A Noble Groom
    Michigan, 1880
Annalisa Werner's hope for a fairy tale love is over. Her husband failed her in every way and now his death has left her with few options to save the family farm. She needs a plentiful harvest. That, and a husband to help bring it in. Someone strong, dependable. That'll be enough. A marriage for love...that's something she's given up on.
So her father sends a letter to his brother in the Old Country, asking him to find Annalisa a groom.
Then a man appears: Carl Richards, from their home country of Germany and a former schoolteacher---or so he says. He's looking for work and will serve on the farm until her husband arrives.
With time running out, she accepts his help, but there's more to this man than he's admitting. He's also gentle, kind, charming---unlike any man she's ever known. But even as Carl is shining light into the darkness of her heart, she knows her true groom may arrive any day.

My Review:  What kind of woman can run a farm on her own, and raise a child at the same time? She must be a very strong and courageous one. What does a woman do when her husband leaves her with a family farm that she is about to lose. Annalisa Werner's husband was not a good husband but, that is not her problem now. Her father means well and tries to help by getting her a new husband.   Annalisa needs to bring in a good harvest so that she doesn't lose the farm, and she cannot do it alone.  The problem is that a man named Carl Richards has shown up, needs a job, and is the kind of man that Annalisa never knew existed. He begins to help her on the farm and although she is supposed to be waiting for her new groom she is finding that she really does not want to stop seeing Carl help her. I was very hooked by this book and I was rooting for the Annalisa and Carl  who seemed real to me, The author has portrayed them well.  I give this book a 5/5. I really recommend this book. I was given this book by Litfuse Publishing Group for the purpose of a review but all opinions are my own.
