Rumors surface of the return of Skinflint Jack, a nineteenth-century wraith that kills in fulfillment of an ancient bargain.

The new sheriff in town, Owen Rutherford, isn’t helping matters. He’s a dangerously haunted man on the trail of both an unsolved case and a fresh kill—a bizarre murder leading him right to Petra’s partner Gabriel. And while Gabe once had little to fear from the mortal world, he’s all too human now. This time, when violence hits close to home, there are no magical solutions.

It’s up to Petra and her coyote sidekick Sig to get ahead of both Owen and the unnatural being hunting them all—before the trail turns deathly cold.

Date of Publication: 11/22/2016

ISBN: 978-1-68313-074-1

ASIN: B01N061W4X

Number of pages: 210

Word Count: 59000

Cover Artist: Kelsey Rice

Book Description:

Hollywood stars! Politicians! Betrayal! Murder! And a by-the-book cop just trying to do her job in the middle of it all.

To solve the murder of a movie star just weeks before the Academy Awards, Detective Frankie Ryan has to navigate through a web of Hollywood secrets and political landmines, not to mention the "old boys club" in her own police department. The presence of a new designer drug and the deaths it is tallying up threaten to hinder her investigation and leave her without a suspect—and maybe out of a job. Even with the aid of psychic reporter Josh Harrell, there is more confusion around every corner. Trusted friends will turn on her, leaving her unsure who to believe and who might be in on the murder and conspiracy.

Can Frankie discover the killer before it is too late?

Note: this is book 3 of the series but each book stands alone

Excerpt:

Frankie nodded and stepped inside the curtain. Daniel Martin

wasn’t a large man, but now he seemed even smaller in the over- sized hospital bed. He stared at Frankie with glassy eyes.

I guess now I’m one of the usual suspects to be rounded up,” he said with a voice just above a whisper.

We can pin attempted murder on you for Belmont and probably link you to Hobbs and Gordon, but we can make things a lot more manageable for you if you just tell me who is behind Ruby Red.”

Martin’s face broke into a rueful smile. “You just don’t get it. You’re dealing with forces much bigger than you or me. You’re just a pawn, and so am I.”

Frankie drew her face closer. “You might not have much time. I can have a priest or minister here if you want to make your peace. Don’t die with this on your conscience.”

Martin’s smile turned into a sneer. “The old circling the drain argument. Does that ever work? You’re not even good material for a Grade B cop movie from the ’40s. You keep digging into this, and you’ll be busted down to walking South Central on the midnight shift.”

Is someone in the department dirty?”

Martin just stared at her while his lips broke into a grim smile. His face became flushed, and his eyes lost focus. An alarm sounded,

and the room was flooded with nurses. Frankie led Josh out. She shook her head.

What could possibly be scary enough for a man on death’s door- step to keep him from talking?

My review;

"Death & Donuts" by author Stan Schatt is a great mystery novel. Frankie Ryan is a Detective who has to fight not only because she is a woman but, also because she is trying to prove herself. When there are deaths adding up and she has no new clues she might be in trouble.  She tries to get help from Josh Harrell who is a psychic reporter, but even he is having a problem. In the middle of all of these problems Frankie is unable to figure out who is good and who is bad. Who could be part of all of this and who is not. This is the third book in this series called, "A Frankie and Josh Mystery" . I give this book a 5/5. I was given this book for a review and all opinions are mine.

My review;

"Death on Lily Pond Lane" by author Carrie Doyle is part of  her "A Hamptons Murder Mystery", series. Antonia Bingham is a chef and also an innkeeper who has come to town a little over a year ago. She also likes to work as an estate manager for the rich. She also does not  trust the police to solve any murders. The latest house she was supposed to check to make sure it was okay was where she found the body of Warner Caruthers. Who wanted him dead? It would be up to her to find out who did it. Will she be able to figure it out?  Will she put herself in danger?  I give this book a 4/5. I was given this book for a review and these are my opinions.

2016 Holiday Gift Guide and Giveaway Jord Watch Review & Giveaway Day 2

Raw material carved into refined design.

Based in St. Louis Missouri, JORD launched their wood watch line in the Fall of 2013.  The momentum of natural, raw, and sustainable material use in modern products was on the rise but JORD saw a void in the wood watch market.  Though the material was present, the design and innovation was lacking. JORD believes that watches are not just timekeepers; watches are statement pieces, watches speak to the style and personality of the wearer.
With that in mind, JORD set out to create a watch line that celebrated the natural beauty and intricacy of wood without resting the look on the material alone.  The company is committed to continual innovation in design.  Metal, texture, and layering are used to achieve a natural accessory that is playful, not childish. The style that is inherent in JORD wood watches is a perfect complement to the modern styling of today.
“Analog watches are experiencing a renaissance in a time when everything is being moved to a digital platform. There is function in fashion and I think that’s why people are returning to wearing watches, even if they’re still checking the time on their phone. ”– Salman Shah (Brand Manager)
The full line of wood watches has ladies, men’s, and unisex options featuring both quartz and automatic movements.  With price points below $350.00 JORD wood watches offer a tremendous value for modern design and quality craftsmanship.
Though the company began as an “online only” brand they have grown and will be entering into brick and mortar retail collaborations starting in the 2014 holiday season.

CHRISTMAS DELIVERY GUARANTEE  FINAL WEEKEND TO ORDER!

My Review:
I was excited to be able to try these watches. I picked what color I wanted and knew exactly what I was getting. I was also able to send my wrist measurements and get my watch fitted for me. I like my watches to fit loosely, and it was easy to make longer. However I dropped the little screw that holds the link in. I contacted the company and they have great customer service. They offered to add the link for me at no cost, or to send out new screws. I got the screws within a few days. I love red, so cherry was a great choice for me. I also really like how easy the clasp is to secure with one hand. It is comfortable, and does not pinch your skin. This is a great gift for the man or woman on your list. I love wearing mine! I am giving this watch a 5/5. I am also giving their customer service a 5/5. Don't forget to order in time for Christmas, They also have some other great offers going on right now! All opinions are my own.

She’s looking forward to a nice visit with the mild-mannered farmer before heading back to their hectic kitchen.

Laura Childs is the New York Times bestselling author of the Tea Shop Mysteries, Scrapbook Mysteries, and Cackleberry Club Mysteries. In her previous life she was CEO/Creative Director of her own marketing firm and authored several screenplays. She is married to a professor of Chinese art history, loves to travel, rides horses, enjoys fund raising for various non-profits, and has two Chinese Shar-Pei dogs.
Laura specializes in cozy mysteries that have the pace of a thriller (a thrillzy!) Her three series are:
The Tea Shop Mysteries – set in the historic district of Charleston and featuring Theodosia Browning, owner of the Indigo Tea Shop. Theodosia is a savvy entrepreneur, and pet mom to service dog Earl Grey. She’s also an intelligent, focused amateur sleuth who doesn’t rely on coincidences or inept police work to solve crimes. This charming series is highly atmospheric and rife with the history and mystery that is Charleston.
The Scrapbooking Mysteries – a slightly edgier series that take place in New Orleans. The main character, Carmela, owns Memory Mine scrapbooking shop in the French Quarter and is forever getting into trouble with her friend, Ava, who owns the Juju Voodoo shop. New Orleans’ spooky above-ground cemeteries, jazz clubs, bayous, and Mardi Gras madness make their presence known here!
The Cackleberry Club Mysteries – set in Kindred, a fictional town in the Midwest. In a rehabbed Spur station, Suzanne, Toni, and Petra, three semi-desperate, forty-plus women have launched the Cackleberry Club. Eggs are the morning specialty here and this cozy cafe even offers a book nook and yarn shop. Business is good but murder could lead to the cafe’s undoing! This series offers recipes, knitting, cake decorating, and a dash of spirituality.
